Refuge prayer: Namo Guru Bhya, Namo Dheva Bhya, Namo Dhakkini Bhya!
The Guru is the source of our knowledge and inspiration, the Guru is the light in the darkness. All our yoga practices come from The Guru. The divine light shines through The Master.
The Guru comes in many forms, sometime a living teacher who gives us a strong yoga practice that cuts right to the bone of our ego self cherishing we feel like we are being painfully reborn. Then maybe the next time we see him/her, the teacher’s loving eyes reflect our soul’s inner beauty and we melt in love. All are teachings to awaken us out of our ego prison.
Sometimes surfing an ocean wave gives us a blissful ride into a timeless space, and at others the ocean holds us under water as we gasp in fear that we are so insignificant and small in this wild power. Nature is also the Guru. The Guru is not separate from us.
Praise to the divine teacher who is guiding us in our life from darkness to light! This is the only real refuge in the ocean of Samsara.
